Dorchester, MA (Boston Bowl) May 3, 2008 The annual NEKO Bowling heralds the first event since NEKO's official restructuring. While attendance was small, the more intimate feel provided a wonderful experience for all to be had.

The event began at a later time of 2:30pm opposed to the posted 1:30pm in order to allow those afflicted by weather and other obligations to join in with the festivities. A total of four games were played, double lanes allowing for two congruent games to played, with double the allotted time as per the generosity of the Boston Bowl management.

Ara-chan captured the first frame; her consistent game triumphed over all others, allowing her to narrowly avoid being overtaken in the final frame. AkaneSaotome bewildered everyone by winning 2 out of 4 games, proving that a sparkling demeanor is required for a dominate frame. Her streak of four strikes (including three in the final frame) proved that Tamaki, in all his flamboyance, is very serious about his game.

Neko Admin Sephygoth captured the final game, battling against both real life and in-character sickness and unwieldy flowing robes. All members in attendance managed to break a score of 100 before their strength and dexterity gave out and caused the group to give up the lanes, and retreat to the adjoined arcade.

At just $12.95 per person, everyone was ensured pizza, drinks and as many video games as one could play (with many tokens left over). With a trip to Dorothy's Boutique at the end of the night to assess new acquisitions for future cosplay, the annual cosplay bowling proved to be quite the enjoyable experience.

Truly, the event proved to be a worthy distraction from the doldrums of a rainy May afternoon.
